Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm year round

This role supports students ages 12 - 17 who are credit-deficient or facing significant academic challenges, especially in reading, ELA, and math. Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted instruction in reading and ELA, with some math support in small group settings.
  • Provide push-in and pull-out academic intervention services.
  • Track and document progress toward IEP goals in reading and math.
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to align interventions with classroom instruction.
  • Use data to drive instruction and adjust interventions based on student performance.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students while managing a variety of behavioral needs.
  • Support students with learning accommodations and individualized education plans.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field and a valid teaching certification 
  • Preferred: Special Education certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Background in literacy interventions or Reading Specialist certification strongly preferred
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience; not open to first - year teachers
  • Experience supporting students with significant academic gaps and behavioral challenges
  • Strong understanding of the behavioral components that impact learning
  • Patient, adaptable, and collaborative educator with excellent communication and classroom management skills, especially in small group settings
